Our take: OMMA Chicken Soup is doing something genuinely interesting — a hawker-priced samgyetang-style bowl, founded by ex-Michelin restaurant chefs, at Bedok 216 and Alexandra Village.
The $6.80 Ginseng Chicken Soup is the move: tender chicken thigh and drumstick, wolfberries, ginkgo nuts, and a clean, nourishing broth that draws direct comparisons to Seoul's Tosokchon — even if the ginseng note runs milder than the Korean original, which is a fair trade at this price point.
The Collagen version has its fans too, and the house kimchi is good enough that regulars take portions home.
The caveats are real.
Consistency wobbles — a handful of recent regulars note the chicken has been less tender on repeat visits, and soup portions can feel stingy when mee sua soaks up the broth.
Service quality varies noticeably by shift and branch, and the early-morning solo-operator setup means sluggish throughput right at open.
Sell-outs are frequent: mee sua can be gone by midday, and the stall closes by 2:30pm on a good day, earlier on a brisk one.
Best suited to neighbourhood regulars or anyone in the Bedok or Alexandra area willing to show up before noon on a weekday.
Not worth a cross-town trip on spec — but absolutely worth it if the queue is short.

What customers say
OMMA Chicken Soup at Bedok 216 and Alexandra Village has built a strong following for its Korean-style Samgyetang, with customers consistently praising the flavourful ginseng and collagen broths, tender chicken thigh and drumstick, and well-regarded kimchi — all at a compelling price point of $6.80–$8.50.
The ginseng soup draws particular praise for its umami depth and wolfberries, while the collagen version is popular with families, though some regulars note the broth could be creamier and portions — especially mee sua — have occasionally felt smaller than expected.
Queues are a recurring feature but are widely accepted as moving quickly, though early arrivals risk inconsistent food quality and stock shortages, with items like mee sua selling out before noon.
Service receives mixed signals: several reviewers commend the polite and hardworking staff, while isolated reports cite a rude counter staff member at the Alexandra Village branch and some inconsistency in chicken tenderness across visits.

“Price is a bit steep especially in hawker centres. The pricing is like in the foodcourt”

“The collagen chicken soup takeaway did not come with the kimchi so was rather disappointing. I also had to rejoin the queue later cos the vendor was not ready at 430pm and ask me to offer later. :(”

“Food is still as amazing. However, was quite disappointed in the tray. It was dirty and totally different from the past visits. Hopefully this is one off”

Authentic rich tasting ginseng soup. I would say comparable to the ones I've had in Korea and at an affordable price too. Plenty of chicken meat and slides off the bone nicely. Nice kimchi too. Definitely worth a visit and Q. Do come in early to avoid the lunch crowd and also risk a chance of them getting sold out by 130pm. Only thing is my member rewards didnt get a stamp for the 2 signatures I ordered. Boss I hope you see this. Was the one who was charged less and paid you the remaining $2 via cash 🫠. I will be back for more so dont want to miss out on my stamp card collection 😆. So join to be a member (and get extra rewards) while enjoying the nourishing soup. Bonus tip. Parking at Heartbeat is free from 12 to 2pm.

Decided to join the lunch time crowd and got into the queue at this stall. After waiting for ~20 mins, I got my Chicken Ginseng Soup order. Broth was flavourful and got depth but the ginseng taste is very mild, not unlike the one I eaten @ Tosokchon Samgyetang. At Singapore hawker centre, this is understandable so as to match the $6.80 price point for this dish. Small Kimchi side was tasty & has the authentic Korean flair. Overall, a reasonably good place to enjoy the Samgyetang in a hawker setting. Will be back to try their collagen version. The stall open daily except on Monday until 2.30 pm.

Yes n yes it is Samgyetang hawker version and is a worth a visit. Queued for 30 mins from 515pm (Sat 18.4)the hardworking young lad in his tiny stall, he’s all for it to give us a good soup. We had one ginseng and one collagen, one with rice n one with mee sua. Honestly for the price point no complaint man, soup is genuinely well thought of (research) and a lighter version of the usual samgyetang you find in Seoul, guess I’ll be avoiding high end samgyetang places for now. I’ll be back next month.
